Aline Amike is a Rwandan multidisciplinary artist, actress, filmmaker, artisan, creative strategist and consultant, and the founder and Creative Director of AMIKE STUDIO.
Her practice began with a love for creating tangible beauty with her hands, exploring weaving as a way to witness how she has used the gift of time. This philosophy continues through AMIKE STUDIO, where she explores the joy found in repetition: one bead, then another, then another; sharing a rhythm with other hands until an idea slowly takes form.
Working across fashion, film, performance and handcraft, Aline is interested in identity, memory and the quiet narratives carried through objects, images and people. Her work often moves between the intimate and the collective, bringing personal storytelling into conversation with craft and the hands of women artisans across the country.
Her relationship with craft also extends into community practice. Aline facilitates beading and weaving workshops with women, sharing practical craft skills that can be developed into income-generating opportunities while creating spaces for collective making and exchange.
As an actress, her work includes Father’s Day, The Bride and Minimals in a Titanic World, with films presented at the Berlinale. In 2024, she was selected for the Berlinale Talents Actors Studio.
Alongside her artistic practice, Aline works as a creative strategist and consultant, bringing her experience across fashion, film and visual storytelling to brands, artists and cultural projects. Her work spans creative direction, brand identity, communication and the development of visual worlds.
Across these different forms, the impulse remains the same: to make with intention, curiosity and heart, and to leave something tangible behind when a moment has passed.
